Bridge And Tunnel Continues Its Critical Praise

LINDA DRAPER's sixth studio LP continues to get more critical acclaim...here are the latest:

" the music and voice take center stage, simple and direct... Draper is all about substance...genius..." - ROCK AND REPRISE

"...stands head and shoulders above what I considered “folk” these days... BRIDGE AND TUNNEL is the best record yet..." - DAGGER (June 6, 2009)

And here's the full review from THE BIG TAKEOVER:

"It would be easy to fly the folk flag over singer/songwriter LINDA DRAPER‘s music. But that would belie her associations with such outsider artists as KRAMER or stage-mates like REGINA SPEKTOR and KIMYA DAWSON. Her quiet meditations on life in the 21st century may involve more acoustic guitars than electronic geegaws, but this ain’t JOAN BAEZ or even CHRISTINE LAVIN. Draper’s songs push her thoughts and feelings outside arbitrary comfort zones, while she and producer BRAD ALBETTA add just the right touches of organ or drums to keep things interesting without distraction. All of which is merely a fancy way of saying that “Broken Eggshell,” “Pushing Up the Day” and the title track are difficult to resist. Kudos also to the overdubbed a cappella take on the ROLLING STONES‘ “Mother’s Little Helper,” a choice that says a lot about Draper’s tastes and attitude." - Mike Tolbert

Also a review of Bridge and Tunnel will be published July 16th at Feminist Review (http://www.feministreview.org/)

More press on the LP:

"dark, driving countryfolk title track to the perfect latenight indiefolk radiopop of I Will and Time Will Tell, the rest of Linda Draper’s Bridge and Tunnel is startlingly good — perhaps one of the best albums I’ve heard this year"
- COVER LAY DOWN (June 6, 2009)

"charming songcraft. Blessed with a lightness of touch and a touching vulnerability, Linda’s songs are the type to ambush you unawares, gradually, dancing across your auditory cortices in soft ballet shoes until you pay them full attention." - WEARS THE TROUSERS (UK, June 5, 2009)

"She's been compared to Regina Spektor and Kimya Dawson...she's all that and more...like Joni Mitchell...pick any song off Bridge and Tunnel and it's all good..." - WE HEART MUSIC (JUNE 3, 2009)
